Happy Friday everyone!!! This week’s post is going to be a little lighter than usual, but I will be attending the METC conference next week so expect a plethora or information next Friday. It doesn’t seem possible, but there are only 39 days of school left until we begin our spring MAP testing. With all the great things that are happening in our building, I expect some great things this spring.
I know I have said it multiple times but once again I want to think everyone for their help with the iPad
deployment this semester. I really believe our shift is going to transform how we teach and how our students learn and showcase new material. These past couple of weeks, I have seen great things building wide that really lead me to believe that we are making an effort to change the way students are receiving instruction in our classes. These great things are happening everywhere in the building, not just in the classes with the devices. Just about any time you are in the Learning Commons there is a class working on a project or presentation. In classes with devices, students are more engaged with the learning activities that they are assigned and how they chose to complete them. In Kelsie’s class the other day students were working on presentations. I witnessed students making presentations in Keynote, Prezi and iMovie. In Miss Haufe and Miss Hurd’s classes I observed students using technology to demonstrate their understanding of the current rubric and work on informative speeches. In each of these classes, every student was vested in the learning activity.
These are just a few of the great things that are happening everywhere in the building. If your students are working on something that you would like everyone to know about, take some pictures and tweet them out. Let everyone else see the great things that are happening in your classes. It appears Mother Nature is going to provide a nice weekend for us. Get out, relax and have a great weekend. As always, if you need anything let me know and continue to break up your OODA!!!
