Good afternoon everyone. I hope everyone had a great week of instruction and that you have a fun,
relaxing weekend planned. I wanted to use my space this week to give an overview of what is in store in the next couple of weeks with the 1:World initiative.
On Tuesday, the Innovations cohort will have their first meeting to discuss the overall vision of the initiative, classroom management procedures and the how we are going to manage the workflow between students and teachers. The teachers that are in the cohort will be exposed to a variety of techniques, applications and programs that will help with classroom management and student/teacher workflow. This cohort will meet again in December to obtain some additional training that they will then be able to help lead sessions in our building next semester as we prepare for additional grade levels becoming 1:1. This being said, I would strongly encourage you to begin exploring applications and programs that will help you in your classroom and as you begin to find resources that you find helpful, by all means share them with others. This is a learning process for everyone involved.
On the students side of the deployment, things are beginning to happen quickly. I have collected approximately 75% of the student information needed to begin the deployment process and we will be having some Parent Information Nights in the near future. At the parent information nights, we will be assigning Apple IDs and parents will be choosing whether or not they want to purchase insurance for their student’s device. Much more information about these nights will be shared in the future, I just wanted to get you guys some dates because we are going to need some volunteers to help with those evenings. The dates are December 16th and 18th and January 8th. The meetings will take place from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at the Middle School.
Once again, I hope everyone has a great weekend and remember to break up your OODA!!!!!
